Apostles proclaimed “Jesus is God”

Paul wrote: Jesus is God
St. Peter the Apostle (The first Pope)

Col. 1:16-17, “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold.”

Romans 9:5, “Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God, Amen.”

John says: Jesus is God

John 1:3, “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”

1 Jn. 5:20, “And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”

Thomas proclaims: Jesus is God

John 20:27-28, “Then he said to Thomas, ‘Reach hither your finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither your hand, and thrust into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.’ And Thomas answered and said unto him, ‘My Lord and my God.’” Jesus accepted that declaration as coming from true faith, when he said, “You believed.”(John 20:29)

Jude believed: Jesus is God

Jude 25, “To the only wise God our Savior, (Savior in Bible means Christ) be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.”

Peter teaches: Jesus is God

“Symeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of equal value of ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ…” 2 Peter 1:1

Epistle to the Hebrews

The Epistle to the Hebrews states the equality of Jesus with God, the Heavenly Father.

Hebrews 1:1-3, “In the past God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God has chosen to possess all things at the end. He reflects the brightness of God’s glory and is the exact likeness of God’s own being, sustaining the universe with his powerful word. After achieving forgiveness for the sins of all human beings, he sat down in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power.”

Bible proves beyond doubt: Jesus is God

1 Timothy 3:16-“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

1 Timothy 1:16-17-“For this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long suffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Titus 2:13-“Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Titus 1:3-“But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Savior.”

Titus 2:10-“…showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.”

Philippians 2:5-8-“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it is not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross.”

It answers the ignorance of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Iglesia Ni Cristo [Church of Christ]: a religious sect founded in the Philippines that propagates the doctrine that Jesus is not God) that denies the Divinity of Jesus because “Jesus  has flesh and
bones.” God has no flesh and bones, as He is Spirit. Jesus was in the form of God the Spirit, but took the form of man. So Jesus said, “I have come down from heaven” (Jn.6:37-40). Now, he is in the form of God again, and with God. He said, “When two or three gather in my name I will be in your midst” (Matthew 18:20).  When we pray, Jesus is present today in our midst, not materially, but spiritually. He is Spirit.

    2. Jesus is God. No doubt about that. When Jesus came to the world, he did not come as God. Hinubad Niya ang kanyang pagka Diyos. Namuhay Siya bilang tao as part of God's salvific plan. Kaya nung namatay Siya, it was His human nature that died. God cannot die. Jesus as God cannot die but as human, he died for our sake.
